This month (August), I put signs in front of the village advertising sammakorn.com and there has been a BIG SURGE in website traffic, and many, many people contacting us.

The website will get many updates over the next month. However, please be patient, because we have a surge of requests and cannot do everything in one day or one week. Honestly, we have other business, too, not just sammakorn.com

Website statistics show that the most popular pages are:

  2. Homes for Rent (I'm surprised that this is #2)
  3. Homes for Sale (almost as much traffic as homes for RENT)
  4. What's New (this page)
  5. Businesses

Photo: My daughter Angela, age 3, more interested in a children's learning "game" than talking to mommy on the phone -- what mommy doesn't see when she's talking to Angela on an ordinary telephone! However, I include this photo because none of the schools in Sammakorn have been interested in a website except The Language House, and I saw computers in none of the schools except The Language House. Children can use a computer from age 1, if they have software carefully designed for their age. We can recommend good software, in both Thai and English, for helping stimulate and develop their minds. We also recommend that schools prepare childrens' minds for the 21st century.

If you or anyone you know wants help in setting up a computer at home or work, then we can help you. If you are a parent, then we recommend you supervise use of the computer and Internet -- at home!

The Sammakorn website was started in February, 2001. We are committed to developing this website continuously.

Notably, we have attempted to visit every medium to large business and shop in Sammakorn Village. Less than half really understood what a website is (including school owners and employees) or had ever used the Internet or used e-mail. Only about half were interested at all, and less than 25% responded that they want a website or even a simple text listing. On the plus side, approximately 25% were interested, and most of those have already made a lot more money from website customers than their website cost. The website agreement is for 2 years, though we currently do NOT have plans to take it down after 2 years.

The only advertising we have done to date is two signs in front of the village plus one on Sukhaphiban 3 Rd. We will get publicity via other websites and in newspapers and magazines in the future, and with your help.
